SVIK / BETRAYAL is a short dramatic film about the inner consequences of betrayal — what it does to a man's identity, his body, his perception of the world — and what survives when everything external is stripped away.

One man walks alone across the vast Dovrefjell plateau above Oppdal. A haunting presence, existing entirely in distorted sound, displaced frequencies and fragments of a familiar voice, pursues him across the landscape and attempts to break him. He deteriorates. He collapses face down on the bare rock of a ridge. And from that surrender — from the love for his son that no darkness was ever able to reach — he rises. Changed. Certain. A man who has found something that cannot be taken.

The film is built on restraint. One actor. One landscape. Almost no dialogue — five words, spoken quietly near the end, dissolve the darkness entirely. The narrative progresses through physical performance, shifts in the landscape, and a carefully constructed sound design.
